Alik Arzoumanian

Alik ArzoumanianBoston based illustrator.

Alik Arzoumanian received her BFA in Illustration from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston in 2004.

The first children's book she illustrated, "Tunjur! Tunjur! Tunjur! A Palestinian Folktale" retold by Margaret Read MacDonald (Marshall Cavendish Children) received an ALA 2007 Notable Book Award. She has also illustrated "So Many Houses" written by Hester Bass (Scholastic Library Publishing), "Grateful Animals" by Sona Zeitlian and "Where are you Little Frog?", written by Kayleigh Rhatigan and published by Lark Books.

Arzoumanian is the founder of Kirk-Mirk, a publisher of Armenian picture books for children. One of the first books published by Kirk-Mirk is called "Dzirani Anoush", written and illustrated by Alik Arzoumanian (2008).

 

Although her work is primarily focused on children's books, Alik has also created artwork for editorial and advertising purposes. Her work for the Fastachi catalogue won a 2004 NEDMA Silver Award. She is also an elementary school art teacher and a visiting lecturer at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
